Programme Description

This programme is designed in response to municipal service delivery failures or address deficiencies associated to human capital. Through this programme councilors will gain the skills are required for them to respond effectively to the needs and expectations of the electorate. It is hoped that an empowered local municaplity will ensure that local residents are able to enjoy responsive and accountable services.

Who Should Attend?

This emerging councilor development programme is designed for newly elected and existing Councilors, mayors, municipal managers, mayoral committee members, officials from different directorates as well as anyone who is either aspiring to become a Councilor or needs a broader perspective on municipality operations and management.

Delivery Methodology

The programme learning methodology is collaborative in nature and the curriculum outcomes are action-oriented performance-based and results-focused. Case studies are meant to test participants’ ability to apply theory to practical realities, knowledge, attitude and personalized learning.
